I've been following the news about D...hello Ed,
I've been following the news about DC Central Kitchen. In fact I have a son that attends Washington Jesuits Academy. I
I realize that most children do not enjoy eating vegetables. But my concern is when when I have done pop up visits during the school meals. And seen some of the food. Alot of the students aren't eating the meal. They pick at it. So I came back for a second visit. And attempted to speak to the young woman in charge she was preparing food with out gloves. A hat upon her head. But the remaining of her hair lose freely. And I actually saw her scratch while preparing the meal with no gloves and then came and shook my hand. We spoke briefly and as I begin to walk out of the kitchen I noticed she did not attempt to wash her hands and with directly back to cooking. Wow!!! I was not to happy.
I inquired about the previous staff and why they left. I believe the guy that was in charge was a very good role model to the kids. And I witnessed several times how he went out the way to make sure the kids ate their food and as well as behaved in the school. I as well as several parents are really missing the interaction of knowing our kids are being treated fairly by someone that cares. Rather than what is currently on staff someone who seems to have rehearsed anwers. What do we as parents do to insure we get the school to find a friendly more caring kitchen staff?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4041351940135831902.post-29622127899204014592010-08-11T12:52:58.906-04:002010-08-11T12:52:58.906-04:00great article ed, thx for the insight.great article ed, thx for the insight.cbhhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01443878474855851675noreply@blogger.com
